I'm the writer, photographer, and cook behind real food love. I am a research scientist by day and a self-proclaimed "real food enthusiast" by...well, day and night.
What exactly is a real food enthusiast, you might ask? Well, as you've probably gathered from the title of this blog, I LOVE real food. And when I say real food, I mean the good old-fashioned sustenance that's been around for ages, and NOT the "food-like stuff" that was developed by food scientists over the past several decades to mimic real food. To me, real food sprouted from the earth, or roamed the lands or swam the waters. And it comes to my plate unmodified from its base state, except, of course, by the wonderful chemistry of cooking.
This blog is a celebration of real food made fresh in the kitchen.
Making real food at home can be costly and time consuming. As a single mother with a demanding career, it was difficult at first for me to say no to the enormous variety of cheap, fast, packaged, convenience food and commit to the slower, raw, authentic fare. But, with a little bit of planning, some willingness to try new things, take some risks, and play in the kitchen, I've found that maintaining a real food diet for myself and my family is not as hard as it may seem.
My goal for this blog is to share my love for cooking and eating quality food and to inspire others along the way. So join me on my adventures in real food love! Let's get in the kitchen and show those food scientists what's what!
